Elisa Arancibia is a Peruvian painter who discovered her passion for art at an early age. She took art classes throughout high school and graduated as a teacher in Peru in 1990. Elisa has been a resident of California since 2001 and loves the beauty of the California landscapes and seascapes. In 2013, Elisa embarked on a mission to become a better oil painter, honing her skills as a plein air painter by joining PAAR (Plein Air Artists of Riverside), a group from the Riverside Art Museum. She also studied with several noted painters.
In 2018, she created the IEPAPAS (Inland Empire Plein Air Painters Society). In November 2021, she opened her own studio and gallery in Ontario, CA, called the EA Art Studio & Gallery (located at 220 E Holt Blvd, Suite B in Ontario, CA). Her paintings have won numerous awards, and she has developed a loyal following. Today, Elisa's paintings can be found in private collections across the country.
For me, painting is a necessity. It's like breathing, eating, and existing. My paintings are a compilation of sketches from life and my imagination, backed up by photographs and memories. They are a dialogue between the observed and the remembered, the planned and the surprises that happen on the canvas. They are the starting point for the exciting process of painting, which is as much about imagination and experience as it is about the rendering of specific landscape locations.I use oil paint on canvas panels to show glimpses of realistic seascapes, landscapes, and urban scenes, capturing a sense of time and place, light and space in California. Light is the focus of most of my paintings, but I also love to depict water as I enjoy the way in which light is reflected and the patterns created by the ripples. I paint a variety of subjects, including landscapes, seascapes, urban scenes, people, nature, and animals.
