“Apprehension” blends oil on canvas to channel the emotional tension that often lives beneath transitions—both artistic and personal. As a painter and dancer, I work intuitively, allowing movement to guide my brush the same way it shapes my choreography. In this piece, a towering, organic form rises from a swirling, textured landscape, capturing the push and pull between fear and emergence. The soft, pastel sky contrasts with the dense, almost turbulent surface below, reflecting the delicate balance between vulnerability and resilience.
My practice is rooted in expressive abstraction, where each stroke becomes a gesture of motion, memory, and release. “Apprehension” is an exploration of the inner terrain we navigate in moments of uncertainty—an invitation for viewers to pause, feel, and connect with the quiet truths that often go unspoken.
