Carlos Buitrago (B. 1972) is a Colombian visual artist who currently resides and works in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, USA. His artistic journey began in 1997 when he attended and studied illustration at the prestigious Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, where he honed his skills and developed a strong foundation in the arts.
 
In 2006, Carlos had the opportunity to work as an assistant for Anatole Krasnyansky in his studio in Los Angeles. This experience allowed him to further immerse himself in the world of art and gain valuable insights into the creative process. It was during his time in Krasnyansky's studio that Carlos's artistic style began to evolve, drawing inspiration from his Latin American heritage and the rich artistic traditions of the region.
 
In 2011, Carlos relocated to Colombia, South America, where he delved deeper into his newfound style and gained a profound understanding of Latin American art. His time in South America was instrumental in shaping his current body of work, which seamlessly blends elements of Latin American art, the American Abstract Expressionist movement, graffiti art, and the Cubist movement.
 
Since returning to California in 2016, Carlos has showcased his captivating artwork in galleries and art shows across Los Angeles, Laguna Beach, New York, London and Miami. With a strong desire to share his artistic vision with the world, Carlos is actively working towards exhibiting his artwork in diverse art exhibits around the globe, connecting with audiences and spreading the essence of his unique artistic perspective.
