As a visual artist specializing in traditional Mughal miniature painting, primarily working on wasli, this artwork marks a contemporary extension of my practice onto high‑gram watercolor sheets. It blends the discipline of classical miniature technique with a modern conceptual approach.

Executed in gouache, bound with organic gum arabic and safeeda (white mineral powder), the surface is prepared through layered washes of tea and gouache. Ultra‑fine, handmade squirrel‑hair brushes in sizes 000 and 1 enable the delicate precision that defines miniature painting.

While rooted in historic methods, the work embraces a contemporary visual language, exploring themes of memory and the lingering echoes of past ages. Through this fusion of tradition and modernity, the piece becomes both a tribute to Mughal craftsmanship and a meditation on the evolving relationship between past and present.
