My inspiration for this piece was to capture the feeling of the ocean's dark and vast, ominous quality. When thinking about the ocean and how massive it is, I often feel small in comparison. The beauty of the oceans is often admired, but the eerie, unearthly element is just as important to me, and I wanted to tell that story here.
